We were joined by Druid co-founders; Garry Hynes and Marie Mullen, and Peige Lally; wife of Mick Lally who was also a founder of the theatre.

Garry, Marie and Peige spoke to Miriam about the legacy thus far of Druid, the exciting plans for the future and of course about the loss of their dearly loved Mick Lally for whom the theatre has been renamed

On the 22nd of November the Druid Theatre in Galway was renamed The Mick Lally Theatre - You can find out more about the Theatre HERE

Druid has been in existence since 1975 but in 2013 was given some new inspiration in the renaming of the theatre for one of it's founders and some exciting new projects and initiatives. A three year plan will involve the presentation of new work with premieres of Brigit by Tom Murphy and The Irish Shakespeare Project by Mark O’Rowe and the establishment of new ensemble cast, of ‘Druids’, which includes Marie Mullen as well as Marty Rea, Rory Nolan, Aaron Monaghan, Maelíosa Stafford and Garrett Lombard
