Balbriggan Maritime Museum has come into the possession of a most unusual catch by local fishermen - four 28 pound cannon balls over 200 years old. Having been meticulously cleaned by the fishermen, they are now on display in Balbriggan Tourist Office, in the absence of a proper Maritime Museum. Every month ( until they have secured a proper museum building ) the Balbriggan Maritime Museum Committee will rotate a sample of the many maritime related artefacts currently in storage, using the limited space kindly made available by Balbriggan Tourist Office on Quay Street.
