Elizabeth McGuinness calls herself the Unluckiest Woman in Ireland

At 8 years of age,she was struck by a bolt of lightning. It was a miracle she survived…;  then she had heart failure in USA (following major sunstroke, seizure and swallowing her tongue).. they had to re boot her heart, she was bitten by a poisonous spider (while pregnant and lost the baby); survived a major car accident and a motorbike crash. Then she had a stroke in New Zealand and decided to come home to Ireland.

At the beginning of November, there were revelations about a 91 year old waiting for 29 hours on a trolley in A&E in Tallaght Hospital.  Dr James Gray is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at Tallaght Hospital since 2006. He is a medicolegal expert in Accident and Emergency Medicine since 2006 and is an expert in all aspects of injury and trauma.

Brenda O'Keeffe only took up running in 2010 aged 32 ... this year she is aiming to break the Irish record in running 106 Marathons in one year – this will be a new Irish record for a man or a woman

She  can’t stop and feels if she does stop that she won't be able to get going again. She was in a bar in Dublin in 2009 when all these ladies came in celebrating completing the mini marathon. She decided there and then to run it next year. She did in June 2010 and then went on to do her first marathon in Dublin that October... 6 days later she ran another one in Berlin. Since then she has run 204 full marathons (the equivalent of 5304 Miles/8907km)

A jewellery valuation expert and gemmologist, Carol Clarke wants to warn people about some of pitfalls around buying and valuing jewellery but in particular one of the problems she identified was people getting ripped off abroad...

She said ‘I spend a huge amount of time with young couples who are being ripped off with clarity enhanced diamonds they did not know they bought until I tell them. This is now part of my daily work with I find most upsetting’.
