Pauric Lodge

Pauric Lodge has been presenting the sports news on RTÉ Radio 1 since 2002.

He studied radio broadcasting at Ballyfermot College of Further Education and cut his teeth with CKR FM in Carlow town.

Pauric also commentates on GAA matches and horse racing and hopes one day to own a horse good enough to run at Cheltenham.

A native of Portlaoise, his father and grandfather were both involved in local politics, but having seen the life of a county councillor up close, he has no desire whatsoever to follow in their footsteps.

Covering the Limerick West General Election count for RTÉ Radio in 2007 is as close as he's getting.
