The Ice Bucket Challenge

Have you heard all about the ice bucket challenge that's sweeping the world? Brenda explains what it's all about...

The Journey's On Us

For the past two years, Mooney has teamed up with Irish Rail for their "The Journey’s On Us" giveaway.  As part of "The Journeys On Us" initiative, Iarnród Éireann will provide 100 groups with free return rail for up to 50 people per group.

It’s a brilliant initiative and what we found over the last two years is it provides a fantastic day out for community, voluntary and charity groups.

Today is the day that this year’s winners are announced and Brenda met one of the winning groups, Crosscare...

Iarnród Éireann has announced the winners of 100 group trips as part of its community initiative, The Journey’s On Us. Over 600 organisations from right across the community, voluntary and sporting sectors applied.

The winners are from diverse backgrounds, spread geographically across the country including: Youth Groups, Special Needs Groups, Girl Guides and Scouts, School Trips, GAA Clubs, Community Groups and Choirs amongst many others.

Iarnród Éireann Chief Executive David Franks said: “We have been overwhelmed again this year by the level of interest in the Journey’s on us from voluntary organisations across the country; we hope that the winners will enjoy their trip. It’s our way of saying thank you for all the great work you do in the community”

Under the initiative, 100 groups of up to 50 people per group will receive a free return group travel journey from Iarnród Éireann, across any of the company’s services.  The travel facilities will be ideal in particular for organisations bringing a group to a special event, or as part of a specific support to the members of the group which requires travel.
