Derek chats to 31 year old, Lee Thompson, who took a ‘selfie’ on top of the 30 meter high (124ft) Christ The Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Lee Thompson is the boss of UK based travel company, The Flash Pack.

As this has been the 'Year of the Selfie' Pat O'Mahony also took to the streets of Dublin to find about your selfies.

GOOD NEWS - Collapsed Crow's Nest

On Friday’s MOONEY GOES WILD (30th May), Vernice Barnley, from Athlone, told MOONEY listeners, about a crow's nest in her chimney that had collapsed into the fireplace. After getting some advice, Vernice moved the nest, and the baby birds, into the garden shed. Much to her surprise, the parents returned to find the nestlings in the shed and continued to feed them as normal. Vernice told Derek today that, over the weekend, the four young Jackdaws had fledged and left the garden.

Well done Vernice :)

England at the World Cup

England at the World Cup

The World Cup kicks off in 10 days time, on Thursday 12th June, and ‘We Are One – Ole, Ola’, featuring Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez is its official anthem. Whether or not the fans will be singing it though is yet to be seen. Over the years in Ireland, we’ve had some very catchy World Cup tunes and our neighbours England are still singing ‘Football’s Coming Home’, even though it’s from the 1990s.

As England are our nearest neighbours, we thought we’d listen to their official song, and take a look back at some of their memorable offerings. Derek chats with Fergus Sweeney.
