On Mooney today...

On Mooney today...

We find out about the American students who were outraged at having to walk half a mile from a field trip, from our Stateside correspondent Lenore Skenazy. Mary Byrne brings her new CD into studio for an exclusive first play with Derek, and would you expect one person to pay for everything when dating, or would you insist on going Dutch?

Going Dutch

If you had just started dating someone, would you be happy if they ALWAYS expected you to pay for food, drinks etc...? Or would you always insist on going Dutch? Derek debates this with Brenda Donohue and Mary Byrne!

Mary Byrne

When Universal Records didn't renew Mary Byrne's contract, she had two options: take charge of her own life or go back to her old job in Tesco!

So she has decided to release a CD called Magic Of The Musicals. By her own admission this is the last chance saloon for her - she has financed the CD herself. She's quit smoking after decades and is on the ecigs now, and has lost over a stone in weight. She joins us in studio today to chat about music, life and the rules of dating!

This weekend Mary Byrne will be visiting four Tesco stores (including her old workplace of Tesco Ballyfermot) to celebrate the launch of her new CD Mary Byrne - Magic of the Musicals, which is on sale nationally from Friday March 28th.

Mary Byrne will visit the following Tesco stores, at the mentioned times:-

TESCO CLAREHALL: Tomorrow: Friday, March 28th, 1-3pm

TESCO MAYNOOTH: Tomorrow: Friday, March 28th , 4-6pm

TESCO BALLYFERMOT: Saturday, March 29th, 11am-1pm

TESCO GOREY: Saturday, March 29th, 3-5pm

Customers can purchase their copy of the new CD, meet Mary Byrne and have their CD personally signed in store on the day just in time for Mother's Day which is this Sunday (March 30th)! To visit Mary's website, visit, to like Mary on Facebook, click here, and to follow Mary on Twitter, click here!
