On Mooney Goes Wild today...
It's the final day of Cheltenham, and our tipsters are on hand to cover the biggest race of the week, the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Environmentalist and filmmaker Dick Warner tells us about his new TV series, celebrating the beauty of Ireland's oldest national Park, Killarney National Park, in County Kerry. We find out about sightings of mammals in Lullymore, in Co. Kildare - and we find out why today is National Pi Day!
Racing From Cheltenham
We'll be keeping an eye on all today's racing action from Cheltenham, in the company of RTÉ Racing's Michael Fortune and Barry Orr from Betfair. Tony Hehir will provide commentary on the 15:20 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup Chase (Grade 1), and the 1600 Cga Foxhunter Chase Challenge Cup. For more information on RTÉ's coverage of the Cheltenham Festival, visit www.rte.ie/sport/racing.
Dick Warner & The Park
As we enter Saint Patrick’s weekend bracing ourselves for lots of garish green and all things kitsch, we want to draw your attention to an oasis of pure Irish beauty in the midst of all the pageantry...
The Park is a new four-part documentary series that will be starting on Sunday night on TV3. The series looks at a true gem in the Irish landscape - something we can all take pride in, as Irish people: Killarney National Park.

National Pi Day
Today is Pi Day, celebrated throughout the world on March 14th every year to highlight the mathematical symbol that is Pi.
Pi is the 16th letter of the Greek alphabet, but it’s more important than that. Every circle ever drawn, regardless of its size will always produce the magic number Pi when you divide its circumference by its diameter.
Pi is 3.141592653.
Mooney Goes Wild reporter and science teacher Terry Flanagan is in studio to explain more...

New Mammals In Lullymore
We had an e-mail recently from the Irish Peatland Conservation Council, who are based in Lullymore Co. Kildare, to inform us of sightings of two new mammals in the area.
Although both these mammals are resident in other parts of the country, they had not been spotted in that area of Co. Kildare for many years and for both to be recorded at the same time certainly caused a stir at the Centre.
What could be the cause of their appearance and what would be the chance of them colonizing the area? We sent our reporter, Terry Flanagan, off to the bog where he met up with the Education Officer of the IPCC, Nuala Madigan...
