Liveline Tuesday 24 November 2020
Discussion and debate with Joe Duffy.
Rachel talked to Joe today about her two daughters both of whom are struggling with anxiety and depression - they are only 13 and 10. Rachel believes that the pandemic has affected children, making their worry so much worse. Anne is a teacher and says that in the last week, four children have come to her with depression and anxiety. She also places the blame on social media and never being able to be 'off'. Margaret shared her story of her child who cannot do any of his activities. Children's mental health is the third wave of Covid, said Dr Candice.
Deirdre spoke about her endometriosis and her chronic pain. She has been on a waiting list for five years, without seeing a doctor. She was sent a letter yesterday asking if she wanted to remain on the waiting list which drove her to Liveline. 'I haven't just got better', she said.
Dan talked to Joe about his wife Dorrie. She is seriously ill with Parkinsons but would love to reconnect with an old friend. However, they last saw each other in 1959 and Dan turned to Liveline to talk about the old days and also his wonderful Dorrie.
