Discussion and debate with Joe Duffy

On today's Liveline we spoke to trainee nurses who are finishing their four-year degree on the wards. The spoke of how hard the work is - physically, emotionally and mentally - and all for the below-miniumum wage of €6.49 an hour.

We spoke to John Moreland of the Irish Yeast Co - he is now 90 and has been working in the business since he was 16. He lives upstairs at the premises on College Street in the heart of Dublin.

Ken and Tom both called in with their stories of being gay in Dublin today.

Trainee nurses

Are trainee nurses being exploited with low wages and stressful workloads or is it all part of life as a trainee?

John has spent 74 years working in The Irish Yeast Company shop - is it a record?

Being gay

Ken and Tom have both had positive experiences of being gay in Ireland
