John Dunne wants to highlight the fact that there is no monument to two girls Marian Vardy & Linda who were killed in a tenement building collapse near Holles Street Maternity hospital on this day at 3.30 p.m.  in June 1963.  He knew them.  He was 12 when the two little girls were killed. He was coming from school when he saw the building collapsed. Other callers called in with their memories of the day including Marian’s sister Vera who told us that her mother was never the same after her sister’s death. She went on to say that she thinks of her sister every day.

Joe O’Farrell spoke to Joe about aggressive begging he encountered coming out of the Shelbourne Hotel last night. He was shocked at how threatening they were.

Brigid bought a photo album in a car boot sale but it contains a lot of personal family photographs including wedding photographs  - she'd love to get them back to the rightful owners

Aggressive begging

Joe was surprised at the aggressiveness of a beggar outside the Shelbourne Hotel the previous evening.   He was not begging in the ususal way, but demanding and threatening people who didn't give him money.
