Wilhelm Maestro

The Irish Army No. 1 Band was formed in 1923 and gave its first public performance under the direction of Colonel Fritz Brase at the Theatre Royal, Dublin, in October of that year.

The band has performed at major ceremonial occasions such as the foundation of the state, inaugurations of Irish presidents, and other major state events, even in the present day.

This documentary is a look behind the amazing character who was the first director of this historical Irish Army Band.
