Listen Back This week Miriam O'Callaghan interviews singer-songwriter Lisa Hannigan and her best friend and tour manager Una Molloy.

They tell Miriam about their first meeting at the Dublin music venue, Whelan's.

Lisa is from the Meath Kildare border and grew up in the countryside. She always loved music, but was particularly inspired by the singing of Maria Callas and trained as a classical singer.

Una is the seventh of nine children from Rathfarnham in Dublin. While she learnt to play the clarinet, she never wanted to perform music.

Lisa tells of how she embarked on a music career after meeting Damien Rice who invited her to sing with him after hearing her perform at the Feis Ceoil. After this relationship ended, her friend Una used her management skills to help Lisa develop her musical career.

Lisa plays some music of her own composition for Miriam and both Lisa and Una choose recordings that have inspired them.

Lisa sings Passenger; Little Bird and Lille.

The other music is Maria Callas Casta Diva from Bellini's Norma; Talking Heads This Must be the Place
