Mrs Browns Boy’s has been a huge success for comedian Brendan O’Carroll and his family. And yes, it really is a family affair... Cathy Brown, Mrs Brown’s only daughter, is played by Brendan’s real-life wife, Jennifer Gibney. Buster Brady, the show’s loveable rogue, is played by Brendan’s son Danny. Maria Brown, Agnes’ daughter in law, is played by Brendan’s daughter, Fiona. Another of Agnes Brown’s daughters-in-law, Betty Brown, is played by Brendan’s real life daughter in law Amanda Woods (she’s married to Danny). And Mrs Brown’s best friend Winnie McGoogan is Brendan’s sister Eilish. Eilish is currently starring in her own one-woman show, Live Love Laugh, at the Players Theatre in Trinity college. It’s largely based on Eilish’s own life story – she was married twice before “coming out” at the age of 40. Eilish joins Derek in studio today to chat about her life, her new play and the phenomenal sucess of Mrs. Brown's Boys... Live Love Laugh is on every night this week until Saturday (inclusive) at the Players Theatre in Trinity College... it’s part of the International Dublin Gay theatre festival. And they’re usually sent by listeners who are hoping we can identify something for them. And we’re happy to do that, if we can. But a rather unusual picture, from Paul Hartnett, caught our eye recently when it appeared in our inbox. It was a picture of a lawn ... a very peculiar lawn. In fact, we have never seen a lawn quite like it. And as the lawn was in Fermoy and our bird expert Jim Wilson only lives down the road in Cobh we asked him would he pop along to have a look at this lawn - and Jim joins us today in our Cork studio…
