Rain warnings issued by Met Éireann for much of the country have ended.
The Status Orange alert for Cork and Waterford and Status Yellow warning for counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, Wexford, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary both expired at 6pm.
The forecaster had warned that persistent and heavy rain could lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
Met Éireann said the rain will gradually ease tonight, with clear spells in the northwest.
It will be dull in the east and southeast tomorrow with light rain, but dry elsewhere with sunny spells - the best of these in the northwest.
On Sunday, outbreaks of rain will become widespread through the morning, with heavy falls at times.
The rain will be most persistent over the eastern half of the country, where localised flooding is possible.
Saturday will be mostly dry with best of sunshine in the west⛅️.
