Met Éireann has warned of possible power outages and travel disruption tomorrow amid a Status Yellow wind warning for the country.
The warning will come into effect at 5am and remains in place until 2am on Friday.
The forecaster said westerly winds will be very strong and gusty in the west at first, and will progress eastwards during the afternoon, with particularly strong gusts, especially around coasts and high ground in the northwest.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow wind and rain warning is in place for Munster from 6pm until midnight, with gusts of up to 110km/h possible.
It will become very windy with heavy rain and possible spot flooding in places.
