Status Yellow wind warnings have been issued for a number of counties in the north and northwest tomorrow, with gusts of up to 110km per hour expected in some parts.

A warning will come into effect for Co Donegal from 3pm tomorrow afternoon, lasting until 6am on Saturday morning.

Gusts of between 90 and 110km an hour are expected, with significantly higher gusts at times along north facing coasts and on the Inishowen Peninsula.

People are also being warned of possible wave and spray overtopping along north facing coasts during high tide on Friday night.

A Status Yellow wind warning will also come into effect for counties Mayo and Sligo at 3pm tomorrow, lasting until 5am on Saturday morning.

Similarly, gusts of between 90 and 110km per hour are expected, with a chance of wave and spray overtopping along north facing coasts.

The UK met office has also issued a yellow wind warning for all Northern Ireland counties, which will take effect at 9am tomorrow morning and last until midnight.

People are being warned that high winds tomorrow afternoon could cause some travel disruption and damage.
