Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for the entire country. The warning is in effect from 11am today until 11am tomorrow.

Wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow with localised accumulations, especially on high ground, and icy stretches on roads and footpaths are forecast.

This may lead to hazardous driving conditions. AA Roadwatch is reminding drivers that it takes much longer to stop on icy roads, and people should slow down, leave extra room to brake and keep all manoeuvres gentle.

A Status Yellow wind warning issued for Donegal yesterday is in place until 5pm today.

This could lead to wind-blown debris on the roads and drivers should give extra space to cyclists, motorcyclists and pedestrians.
