PSNI detectives investigating the murders of an elderly couple in Co Armagh on Friday have been granted more time to question a 40-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the killings. 

Officers from the PSNI's serious crime unit secured more time to detain and question the suspect after applying to the courts.

The bodies of Michael and Marjorie Cawdery, both aged 83, were found in their home by a relative on Friday afternoon.

It is understood the pensioners had been stabbed to death.
