A well-known Irish IT security expert is to be inducted into the hall of fame at Europe's largest information security industry event.
Brian Honan is being recognised for his long-term contribution to the information security sector by Infosecurity Europe.
The founder and CEO of BH Consulting, Mr Honan was also a founder of Ireland's first Computer Emergency Response Team, and is a special advisor on internet security to Europol's Cyber Crime Centre (EC3).
He also lectures on security issues at University College Dublin and is a regular media commentator.
Mr Honan described the award as a huge honour, adding that it was "very humbling, considering the luminaries that have already gone before me".
He said his induction was a way of honouring not just himself, but also the whole Infosecurity Europe community.
He will formally be inducted on stage at this year's Infosecurity Europe event in London on 9 June.
Mr Honan joins other well-known names in the cyber-security area, including Eugene Kaspersky, Dr Eric Cole and Phil Zimmerman, who have also been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
