The popularity of Game of Thrones is being seen as something that will give Northern Ireland the wildest exposure it has received outside of politics and the Troubles.

The fantasy drama is now watched in over 70 countries and averaged more than 18.4 million gross viewers per episode in series four.

The show has spent around €80 million on goods and services in the North during the production of the pilot and series one to three.

That figure does not even incorporate the tourism generated by Game of Thrones.
