A one-year-old boy was killed in a road traffic collision as he was being pushed by his grandmother through a Co Down village yesterday.
The child and the woman, who is in her 60s, were hit by a lorry as they crossed the street in the village of Moira.
Police confirmed that the child died at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The boy has been named locally as Frank Michael McIlduff, of College Grove, Lurgan.
Police, ambulance and other specialist emergency services attended the scene of the incident, which happened at around 1.40pm yesterday.
The road has since reopened.
Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward.
They also want to speak to anyone who may have relevant dashcam footage.
The circumstances have stunned the community of Moira.
Many people saw what happened and tried to help in the aftermath with some said to be "traumatised" by what they had witnessed.
