A man in his 20s is in a serious condition in hospital after what Gardaí believe was a hit and run in Co Wexford.

The pedestrian was found with serious head injuries at Ballydermot on the Arklow Road in Gorey in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The man was taken by ambulance to St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin where he remains in a serious condition.

The offending vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or road users who may have dash cam footage from the area between 2am and 3am on Saturday to come forward.
