Gardaí in Dublin today seized a quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of €133,600.

An operation today led by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, gardaí from the drugs unit at Blanchardstown and the Revenue Customs Service searched a number of premises in the Blanchardstown area.

Gardaí said the operation was carried out targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime in the area.

During the search, 6.68kg of herbal cannabis was discovered. The seized drugs will be sent for analysis.

A man, aged 22, and a woman, aged 41, were arrested in relation to drug trafficking offences.

They are both being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
