The Criminal Assets Bureau has seized vehicles, a small amount of drugs and over €20,000 in cash after searches of four properties in Sligo today.

The operation was conducted with assistance from the Regional Armed Support Unit, the Garda Dog Unit and the Customs Revenue Dog Unit, along with local gardaí in Sligo.

It targeted the assets and activities of an individual suspected to be involved in the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Sligo town area.

Four residential properties were searched, as well as a communal green area at the rear of two of the residences.

A 172 Volkswagen Golf R, a KTM Off Road Motor Bike, a small quantity of suspected cocaine and €24,465 in cash were seized.

Additionally, €151,000 was restrained in financial accounts under Section 17 (2) of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010.

A garda statement added that investigations are ongoing.
