Three men have been arrested after drugs with an estimated street value of €339,000 were seized in Limerick city.

Gardaí separately stopped two cars in Corbally and Thomandgate at around 6.30pm yesterday. Drugs, believed to be cannabis herb, worth around €20,000 were found in each car.

The drivers, men aged in their 40s and 50s, were arrested and taken to Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda Stations.

In follow up searches at an apartment in Henry Street and a house in Corbally drugs, believed to be cocaine and cannabis herb with an estimated combined approximate value of €299,000, were found. A sum of cash was also seized.

A third man, aged in his 60s, was arrested at the apartment on Henry Street.

No arrests were made following the search at the house in Corbally.
