Six people have been rescued by the Irish Coast Guard at Rocky Bay, between Kinsale and Crosshaven in Co Cork.
The four men and two women became trapped at the base of a cliff when the tide came in.
According to Valentia Coast Guard, an emergency 999 call was made around 4pm.
Units from Oysterhaven & Summer Cove Coast Guard and Crosshaven Coast Guard and the Waterford-based helicopter, Rescue 117, were dispatched to the scene.
No lifeboat was sent as the area was inaccessible by sea.
One by one, the six people were airlifted to safety at the top of the cliff by Rescue 117.
An ambulance was sent to the scene but was not needed.
