Two 23-year-old men, charged with assaulting gardaí in Co Donegal earlier this month, have been remanded on continuing bail until May at Letterkenny District Court.

The men, Michael Lynn, whose address was given as 12-14 Bond Hill, Simon Community, Derry and Dane McKeever of 11 Fahan Street, Derry, each face three charges connected to the same incident at a house in Milford on 13 March.

The court was told that Mr Lynn was unable to be in court today but Mr McKeever was present.

He is charged with 3, Section 2 assaults against two gardaí and another man. He was granted free legal aid by Judge Paul Kelly after telling him that he was a youth worker who lives with his girlfriend and two children.

In relation to Mr Lynn, Inspector Paul McHugh said no directions had yet been received from the DPP in relation to the assault charges but it would not take long.

Judge Kelly adjourned both cases to 24 May.
