Leas-Cheann Comhairle Catherine Connolly has told the Dáil that she has written to Independent TD Marc MacSharry for what she called an "unjustifiable and unfair attack on her integrity as chair" during a row last week.
Ms Connolly said Mr MacSharry alleged she was discriminatory towards him and other members.
The Dáil was suspended last Wednesday when the Sligo-Leitrim TD refused to accept a ruling from Ms Connolly that he was out of order and that he should resume his seat.
Mr MacSharry accused the Leas Cheann Comhairle of not giving him adequate speaking time.
Today, Ms Connolly told TDs that correspondence had been sent from her to Mr MacSharry.
