The Cabinet has extended medical cards for the families of those affected by the CervicalCheck controversy for five years.

The cards were issued on an administrative basis to around 1,100 by the Health Service Executive from May 2018 and had a three-year expiry date attached to them.

The cards were issued as part of a package of supports for women and their families.

The cards held by the affected women do not have an expiry date.
