Minister for Tourism, Sports, Arts, Culture and Media Catherine Martin has raised concerns about late night voting in the Dáil.

Weekly votes have been moved to a Wednesday night at 9:30pm but the Minister believes that this is a huge challenge for TDs with young children.

The Minister joined Aisling Kenny for a special edition of the Your Politics Podcast, to discuss the lack of women in politics, despite the introduction of gender quotas.

Minister Martin speaks about climbing the political ladder, the barriers facing women in politics and being married to fellow Green Party TD Francis Noel Duffy.

She talks about when their children first found out they were on opposite sides of the debate within the party on the Programme for Government.

The Minister voted in favour of the Programme for Government while her husband was among a group of party members who abstained on the vote.

Minister Martin explains that it was a difficult issue but that the couple do their best to separate work and family life.
