The Government has steamrolled ahead with the National Broadband Plan despite a blunt warning from one of the country’s top civil servants that it is overpriced and risky.
The searing assessment of the plan by Robert Watt, the head of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, left the Minister for Finance grasping for explanations.
