Motorists in Florida rushed to stop a car where a driver had fallen unconscious after suffering a medical emergency, CCTV traffic footage showed.

The camera captured the incident on 5 May in Boynton Beach. It showed a woman running after a slow-moving car across an intersection.

She waves for help as the car crosses the junction and motorists rushed out of their vehicles to stop it from crashing onto other cars.

The woman running after the car was a co-worker of the driver, according to Boynton Beach police.

When the car stopped, one of the motorists used a dumbbell to smash the window of the rear passenger's side window. Another motorist climbed in to unlock the passenger's side door.

The car was eventually pushed to a nearby car park where the driver was given medical attention.

The police department shared the video yesterday, asking for the public's assistance in identifying the people who helped save the woman.

"They are heroes and we want to bring them back together at the police department to recognise them and meet the woman they rescued," Boynton Beach Police said.
