Some of Ireland's most established artists as well as emerging artists are taking part in an online digital art gallery, hosted by RTÉ, called Illuminations.

Featuring visual art, photography, film, music, poetry, essays and spoken word pieces, Illuminations features work from established and emerging artists, and the work they have produced aims to capture how people are feeling during the pandemic and to help foster solidarity and build resilience.

Although all galleries and cultural spaces are now closed, Level 5 restrictions state that production of video, sound, digital or other electronic content and the broadcast or publication of the same is permitted, and digital exhibitions are going to prove vital to the arts community and its audience in the weeks ahead.

Artists featured in Illuminations include Isabel Nolan, Hazel Coonagh, Enda Walsh, Nidhi Zak/Aria Eipe, Sara Baume, Jane Clarke, Dermot Bolger, Pat Collins, Niamh Campbell, Megan K Fox, Leanne McDonagh, Jeanette Lowe.

The gallery will also include portraits of the artists by Gillian Hyland.

Free to access, Illuminations can be accessed here and new work will be added to the site over the coming weeks.
