Aerial footage released by the United Nations reveals a sea of tents in one of the massive camps for displaced people near the Turkish border with Syria.

According to UN deputy humanitarian coordinator Mark Cutts, one million people already live in camps such as this one and there is a huge shortage of shelter for those currently fleeing violence.

More than 800,000 people are thought to have been displaced over the past two months, heading towards the border with Turkey.

Since December 2019, the Syrian government has intensified its military operations to try to take over the last opposition stronghold, targeting Idlib's countryside with the support of Russian air raids.
