It's the season for sparkle, tinsel and fairy lights. Christmas is almost upon us but some people go the extra mile to spread the festive cheer.

Bridie O'Neill is a lollipop lady with St Mochta's National School in Dublin.

Every morning in December, Bridie sports a different Christmas-themed outfit to light up the children's school run.

Paddy Price is an 85-year-old great grandfather from Prosperous in Co Kildare.

Paddy has been making his own lights in his tool shed since 1965.

Families come from all around to view his garden display while Paddy and his family hand out sweets and drinks.

Phil Corcoran from Lucan is new to the Christmas light game. He started decorating his home a couple of years ago in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital. Last year he raised over €4,000 for the hospital.

All these Christmas cheerleaders share a love for all things sparkly and enjoy spreading the festive cheer.
