A man has pleaded guilty at the Circuit Criminal Court in Cork to a count of sexually assaulting a child at a location in the county in the early 2000s.
The man cannot be identified by order of the court, in order to protect the identity of the victim in this case.
Sentencing was adjourned until 25 April.
The man pleaded guilty when the charge was put to him in court this morning.
His barrister, Kate Aherne, said he was voluntarily surrendering his bail.
Judge Helen Boyle ordered that the man be remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing.
