An investigation is under way into the death of a man in Mallow, Co Cork.
The body of the man, who was aged in his 50s, was found at an apartment in the town.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted at around 7pm when the man's body was found at the bottom of a stairwell at the apartment.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
Assistant State Pathologist, Dr Margot Bolster, will conduct a post-mortem examination on the body tomorrow morning.
Gardaí have said that their investigation will be guided by the results of the post-mortem examination.
