Two men have been arrested following the seizure of 3kgs of heroin worth over €425,000 in Cork. 

The drugs were found when gardaí searched a car at Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny last night. 

Two men, aged 42 and 47, were arrested at the scene and are being questioned at Gurranabraher Garda Station. 

The search was carried out as part of an operation targetting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Cork. 

Superintendent Michael Comyns said calls from the local community alerted gardai to "unusual activity" in the area.
