Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information about a shooting incident which occurred in Limerick last Thursday evening.
A man was found in a car in Castle street beside the city's famous King Johns Castle at 7pm with a gunshot wound.
The area was sealed off that evening for a technical examination.
Gardaí say they have now established that the shooting took place at Long Pavement in Moyross, located a number of kilometres away on the north side of the city, and that the injured man then travelled as far as Castle street in a green Ford Galaxy car.
The car has been seized for further examination, and gardaí are carrying out further searches in both locations, as well as examining CCTV from the areas.
Gardaí are appealing for infomation from anyone who was in the Castle street or Long Pavement areas between 6.30pm and 7.30pm last Thursday evening, and who may have seen the green Ford car to contact them.
The injured man aged in his 40s remains in a stable condition in hospital.
