Divers have recovered a body in the search for a fisherman missing in west Cork since Wednesday.

The search began after Kodie Healy, who was in his 20s, failed to return to shore after a day's fishing in Dunmanus Bay.

The wreckage of a boat was found later.

This afternoon divers recovered a body, believed to be that of Mr Healy, close to Carbery Island in Dunmanus Bay.

The body will be taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

Formal identification is expected tomorrow.
