A search operation launched following a report that three kayakers had gone missing off the south-east coast has been stood down.
It is now understood that the alert was a false alarm.
Emergency services were alerted after a kayaking party of three were seen heading off from the Co Wexford coast at Duncannon, but not seen returning.
It is now reported that the people involved are safe and well having arrived back on land earlier this evening.
Search parties were alerted at about 5.30pm that three people - reported to be a child and two adults - had not returned from a kayaking trip near Duncannon in Co Wexford.
The Coast Guard Rescue 117 helicopter was tasked to lead the search while teams had also been deployed from the customs service, navy and Waterford City River Rescue.
The search concentrated on an area within about three kilometres off the coast at Duncannon.
