More than €2.5 million is being invested in new health facilities by a private healthcare company in Waterford.
Affidea is one of the country's leading providers of diagnostic imaging services, including MRI, ultrasound and X-ray.
It has announced plans to open a new medical scanning facility at Ardkeen in Waterford city.
The facility should be open by this June.
The company says the move will generate ten jobs and it anticipates 9,000 patients will attend the Waterford centre for 12,000 scans each year.
The investment comes as part of an overall €15m investment in the Irish healthcare sector.
Last month, the company announced plans to open a new diagnostic centre in Tallaght this Ma, to service west Dublin.
