A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Dundalk, Co Louth last week.
He was detained on suspicion of murder and is being held at a garda station in Louth under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The body of Catherine Henry, 62, was discovered at her home on Bridge Street in Dundalk last Wednesday evening.
A murder investigation was launched following the completion of a post-mortem examination.
A senior investigating officer was appointed and an incident room set up at Dundalk Garda Station.
A family liaison officer was also assigned to the case.
