A man in his 60s has died following a road crash in County Wexford this morning.

The incident happened at about 10.35am in the Curracloe village area, north of Wexford town.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the driver of the car was treated and brought to Wexford General Hospital, but he later died.

The road through Curracloe has been closed to allow forensic collision investigators to carry out an examination of the scene.

A post-mortem examination on the man's body will be conducted later.

Gardaí in Wexford have appealed to anyone with information to contact them. They have also appealed to anyone with footage of the scene including dash-cam footage, between 10.15am and 10.35am, to come forward.
