A Range Rover and designer watches have been seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau investigating the criminal activities of a Meath-based businessman.

Searches were carried out at five locations in Dublin and Meath today and a 131-registered Range Rover was seized along with two Rolex watches, and Breitling and Longines watches.

A number of files, documentation and hard drives were also seized during the searches.

Gardaí say this operation was carried out as part of an ongoing investigation targeting the assets of a significant organised crime group involved in the sale, supply and distribution of controlled drugs nationwide.

They say today's operation is "significant" in the ongoing proceeds of crime investigation.
