Three people have been arrested in connection with drug seizures in counties Louth and Cork.

Two men were detained following the seizure of €25,000 worth of cannabis in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The men, aged in their 30s and 50s, were arrested during two separate searches last night.

They were carried out as part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Drogheda.

Both men were taken to Drogheda Garda Station for questioning and are to appear before Dundalk District Court today.

In Co Cork, a man in his 30s has been arrested after heroin worth an estimated €53,000 was seized near Mallow.

The drugs were recovered during a search of a house in the Grenagh area yesterday afternoon.

The man is being detained at Gurranabraher Garda Station.
