A man has been arrested in connection with a road crash in which another man died in Co Wexford this afternoon.

The arrested man, in his 50s, is currently being detained at Gorey Garda Station.

The collision between a truck and another vehicle happened on the M11 Northbound off Clough roundabout near Gorey at around 2.10pm.

The vehicle involved went on fire as a result of the collision. Its sole occupant, a man in his 30s, was fatally injured.

The man driving the truck was uninjured in the incident.

The man's body has been removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary at Waterford University Hospital where a post-mortem is expected to take place tomorrow.

The road has since re-opened following the incident.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone with dash cam footage who may have been travelling from Camolin towards the M11 Northbound to Clough, Gorey, between 1.50pm and 2.15pm, to contact them at Gorey Garda Station on 053 9430690.
