Met Éireann and the UK Met Office have issued rain and wind warnings for tomorrow and Saturday.

A status yellow rain warning for Connacht and Cavan is valid from 2pm tomorrow until 9am on Saturday with spells of heavy rain expected, leading to the possibility of spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions.

As rain spreads, the warning applies to Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wicklow and Monaghan from 6pm tomorrow to 1pm on Saturday.

A status yellow wind warning is set to come into effect from 1am to 12pm on Saturday for Cork, Kerry and Waterford.

Met Éireann said very strong north to northwest winds will bring gusts of up to 110 km/hr, which could lead to falling branches, damage to "temporary structures" and difficult travelling conditions.

The UK Met Office has a status yellow rain warning in place for Northern Ireland from midnight to midday Saturday.

It said unseasonably wet and windy conditions may lead to some disruption on Saturday morning.
