A man has been arrested following the death of another man in a stabbing incident in Tralee, Co Kerry this evening.
Gardaí were called to the Abbey Court apartment complex in the centre of the town just after 7pm.
The man, who was in his 50s, was found with serious stab injuries. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The body remains at the scene and a technical examination and post-mortem examination will take place in the morning.
A man in his 50s has been detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tralee Garda Station.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly appealing to those who were in the vicinity of Abbey Court Apartments and Denny Lane / Street areas between 6pm and 7pm this evening to come forward.
